A lot of speaker systems have 1/8" jacks as additional audio inputs; that was just the case for the Klipsch iGroove SXT I purchased through Amazon. I purchased the cable to allow me to connect my computer to the iGroove speakers and it worked flawlessly. With another connector (RCA -> 1/8" female) I can also connect the speakers to my Xbox 360.
I'm not an audiophile who pays a ton extra for goldplated cables; this is a no-frills cable that works fine.

I would not buy these, I used them one time and when I pulled them out of my ipod the end came off. Not worth the shipping expense.
